Self-adhesive labelling
Pharmaceutical labels

Application

Pharmaceutical labels are relatively small compared to other. They decorate small flacons. At the same time we want our medicines to be secure, so they have to bear security features. In addition there is a need for brand protection. Thus, pharmaceutical labels require the finest resolution of printing.

Self-adhesive labels (or pressure-sensitive labels) are made by printing onto a construction of 3 layers: a release liner (also known as the backing paper, carrier or glassine), a layer of adhesive and the face material. Flexographic printing does a great job in producing these. You and your market are evolving. Your park might need expansion to deal with short run label printing, more complex orders and demanding customers. Self-adhesive label production might offer you new territory and opportunities, that leaves you plenty of room for creativity, flexibility and growth.

Description

Runlengths for some pharmaceutical products have been small for many years since the right digital solution didn't exist. The high quality and high resolution imaging possibilities of digital printing today make it possible to produce pharmaceutical labels. Fine printing techniques enable perfect color reproduction, the use of custom colors and the integration of tracking mechanisms.
